The Michigan Mathematics and Science Leadership Network (MMSLN) is pleased to announce the appointment of April Jenkins as its new Executive Director.
April currently serves as a K–8 principal and district mathematics coordinator. She brings extensive experience in educational leadership, STEM education, curriculum development, and student advocacy. April looks forward to collaborating with MMSLN members and partners to advance high-quality mathematics and science education while expanding meaningful learning opportunities for students and educators across Michigan.
Adding to this exciting transition, Linnea Gibson has been named MMSLN’s Science Coordinator, where she will lead the organization’s science professional learning and leadership initiatives. Linnea has been an integral part of MMSLN for many years, serving on the OpenSciEd Elementary State Steering Committee, participating in Learning in Places co-design, and contributing to numerous other projects. She also continues in her role as the K–12 Science Consultant for Michigan’s northern Lower Peninsula.
The MMSLN team extends its sincere gratitude to Mary Starr for her 14 years of dedicated leadership and service to the organization. We wish Mary all the best in her retirement and are grateful that she will continue contributing to MMSLN through her work on the Learning in Places initiative.
